There is just so much to see and do, and you may want to take a break from chauffeuring the family around and put your feet up and enjoy a glass of wine, a bottle of beer or experience a fantastic meal whilst the kids entertain themselves in a fully equipped playground. There are lots of places the kids can visit and enjoy some special treats. Here are a couple of our children's favourites: the Chocolate Factory - little kids and big kids get to try for free milk, dark and white chocolate buttons which the kids love. There is also the Ye Olde Lolly Shoppe and Margaret River Fudge Factory. If you fancy an ice cream try Simmos Ice Creamery - they have a family friendly crazy golf course and a great outdoor playground.

Boranup Forest Maze - The kids will love getting lost in the Boranup Forest Maze. Located at 219 Caves Road, Karridale. Tel 9758 5582.

Jewel Cave - WA's largest cave open to the public. Guided tours every hour 9.30 - 3.30 along 700m of walkways and stairs through fabulous caverns and formations. Tel 9757 7411

Mammoth Cave - Spectacular formations. See bones and fossils of ancient creatures. 500m long, 30m deep. Take a tour or go independently with an MP3 headset. Open daily, 9-5. Tel 9757 7411

Eagles Heritage - A unique wildlife centre with Australia's largest collection of birds of prey. Daily flying displays 11am and 1.30pm. Lot 303, Boodjidup Rd, Margaret River. Tel 9757 2960. Open 7 days, 10-5.

Margaret River Fudge Factory - See how fudge and chocolate is made by hand. Cafe and shop. Tours available. Located at 152 Bussel Hsy, Margaret River. Tel 9758 8881.

Naturaliste Reptile Park - an interactive park where you will see and learn about WA's lizards, pythons, goannas and venemous snakes. Located Wildwood Rd, Carbunup. Open Tue-Sun 10-4. Tel +61 08 9755 1771
